What this calculator does
It works out your exact age in years, months and days on any date you choose, such as today or an exam’s cut-off date. It also shows the total months and days, your next birthday, and whether your date of birth falls within the SSC CGL 2026 age limit for your post.
How to use it
- Type your date of birth in the Day, Month and Year boxes (DD / MM / YYYY). The cursor moves to the next box by itself.
- Age as on starts at today’s date. Change it, or tap Use cut-off date 01-08-2026 for SSC CGL 2026.
- Read your age, total months and days, and next birthday.
- Optional: under Exam age check, choose your post’s age limit to see if you are eligible.
Example
Born on 15-06-2000, age as on 01-08-2026:
- Age: 26 years, 1 month, 17 days
- In total: 313 months · 9,543 days
- Next birthday: 15-06-2027, in 318 days
How age is counted
- Count the whole years, then the whole months, then the remaining days.
- A month is complete on the same date in the next month. If that date does not exist (29, 30 or 31 in a short month), it completes on the 1st of the next month.
- A 29 February birthday counts on 1 March in other years.
- On your birthday, the page says “Today is your birthday!” and gives next year’s date.
SSC CGL 2026 age limits
The cut-off date is 01-08-2026. The notice (para 5.1) gives a date-of-birth range for each age limit:
| Age limit | Born on or after | Born on or before | Example posts |
|---|---|---|---|
| 18–27 years | 02-08-1999 | 01-08-2008 | Auditor, Accountant, Tax Assistant, Postal/Sorting Assistant, SSA/UDC |
| 20–30 years | 02-08-1996 | 01-08-2006 | ASO in CSS, Railways, MEA, AFHQ; Sub Inspector in CBI |
| 18–30 years | 02-08-1996 | 01-08-2008 | Assistant Audit Officer, Inspector (Income Tax, CBIC), Inspector Posts, most other ASO posts |
| 18–32 years | 02-08-1994 | 01-08-2008 | Junior Statistical Officer |
The calculator checks this printed date range, not just your age in years. That matters at the edges: someone born on 01-08-1999 is exactly 27 on the cut-off date but falls outside the 18–27 range.
Age relaxation for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, ex-servicemen and other categories (para 5.2) is not included. Check the notice for your category.
Rules and limits
- Date of birth from 01-01-1900. The “as on” date can be up to 31-12-2100.
- The date of birth cannot be after the “as on” date.
- Ages over 130 years are treated as a typing mistake.
- Dates are shown as DD-MM-YYYY.
These limits are set by RozTools for this calculator; they are not SSC rules.
Common mistakes
- Using today’s date instead of the cut-off date. Exam eligibility depends on your age on the cut-off date (01-08-2026 for SSC CGL 2026).
- Using a date of birth that differs from your Class 10 certificate. SSC uses the certificate date.
- Judging eligibility by age in years alone. Check the date range in the notice, as shown above.
- Forgetting category relaxation. If you belong to a reserved category, your upper age limit may be higher.
